Our vision
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.
With a team of over 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses, we are committed to beating cancer through world-class research.
We have set ambitious goals for ourselves to support our vision – Together we will beat cancer. And we will work with our partners to achieve these goals to make a significant impact on cancer in the future.
How we make a difference
We fund research into many types of cancer, covering all aspects of the disease, from its molecular causes through to treatment and prevention.
For example, we are the major supporter of breast cancer research in the UK. We spend over £22 million a year on research into the disease that affects over 40,000 women in the UK each year.
We also fund research aimed at improving the quality of life for cancer patients and provide support for them and their families.
Why your support is so important
We rely overwhelmingly on the fundraising contributions from people like you to allow us to continue our work.
Enter a Race for Life today. The money you raise will make a real difference and give hope to people affected by cancer both now and in the future.
