General
1. Race for Life is a women-only event. Cancer Research UK has the right to ask male participants to withdraw from the event.
2. Race for Life is unable to accept any entries on the day. Due to health and safety reasons we need to make sure that events do not go over capacity. We also need to ensure we have contact details for all participants in the case of an emergency.
3. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in Race for Life to be used to publicise Race for Life and Cancer Research UK generally, including television broadcasts.
4. All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of their official Race for Life number, which must be worn on the front of shirts during the event. To help Cancer Research UK save money, please also remember to bring your safety pins!
5. In the case of an emergency Cancer Research UK may use the details provided by you to contact your home or office.
6. Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in Race for Life should take medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the event.
7. All participants enter this event entirely at their own risk and Cancer Research UK shall not be liable for any injury or loss that might occur as a result of their participation other than as a result of Cancer Research UK’s negligence.
8. Absolutely no pets, baby strollers/prams or roller skates/blades are allowed on the course. For health and safety reasons, if participants are not able to leave pets/prams with a family member or friend they may be asked to withdraw from the event. Spectators are asked to keep pets on a lead.
9. We strongly advise that all participants and volunteers under the age of 18 are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. We can take no responsibility for under 18s on the day.

Please note that you are not able to pay your sponsorship money on the day of the Race for Life event as Cancer Research UK do not have the suitable cash handling facilities to fulfil this process.
11. You have a legal responsibility to ensure that all sponsorship monies/donations received by you for Race for Life are paid to Cancer Research UK.
12. Calls to our hotlines may be monitored or recorded to allow us to maintain our standards of customer service.
13. Use of our website is subject to Cancer Research UK’s website terms and conditions.
14. All participants must abide by any rules, instructions and regulations displayed or given on the day of the event by police and officials.
15. All participants wanting to take part in a wheelchair must refer to the hotline or local venue page to see whether the course can accommodate wheelchair access.
16. Only registered participants are eligible to take part in Race for Life. Adults, children, toddlers, babies must all be registered by paying the entry fee.
17. For health and safety reasons participants arriving late must abide by the instructions and decisions of the organiser.
18. Due to unexpected health and safety reasons on the day, the Race for Life 5km course may have to be reduced or altered to accommodate unexpected complications (for example, flooding).
19. Participants’ supporters and family members spectate at this event entirely at their own risk and Cancer Research UK shall not be liable for any injury or loss that might occur as a result of their attendance other than as a result of Cancer Research UK’s negligence.
20. For health and safety reasons, if you are unable to take part in the event and wish to transfer your entry to a family member or friend, please ensure that you have notified us via our hotline, 0871 641 2282, prior to the event.
21. Cancer Research UK respectfully ask all participants along with their supporters to refrain from smoking at the event.
22. Cancer Research UK respectfully asks all participants along with their supporters not to use aggressive or abusive language towards our organisers and volunteers.
23. Cancer Research UK reserves the right to refuse entry into Race for Life.
24. Due to health and safety restrictions, at venues where two of our events are taking place on the same day, Cancer Research UK reserves the right to refuse entry to those participants taking part in the wrong event (this is identified by the colour of your running number).
Merchandise
25. If your Race Pack doesn’t reach you before your event day you are entitled to a refund as long as your entry was received 14 days prior to that date. Please call our hotline on 0871 641 2282 for further assistance.
26. Stocks of all our merchandise items are limited. In the event of the item you order being unavailable, we will send you an acceptable substitute where possible or a refund.
27. Refunds and exchanges can only be offered on goods returned in their original condition within ten days of delivery.
